Chapter 8 • Winnie found out about the Tucks’ secret. • Winnie was not of afraid of the Tucks. • Jesse showed off for Winnie.
Chapter 9 • Miles carried Winnie part of the way to his house. • The Tucks and Winnie made it to the Tuck home. • Winnie met Angus Tuck.
Chapter 10 • The Tucks’ home was messy. • Every ten years, in the first week of August, Jesse and Miles meet Mae at the spring in Tree gap. • Miles and Jesse jumped into the pond with their clothes on.
Chapter 11 • The Tucks had no rules at dinner. • Winnie announced that she wanted to go home. • Winnie told the Tucks about the man in the yellow suit.
Chapter 12 • Angus Tuck took Winnie out on the pond. • Angus talked about life and why Winnie shouldn’t drink the magic spring water. • Someone stole the Tucks’ horse.
Chapter 13 • The man in the yellow suit arrived at the Fosters’ home. • The man in the yellow suit was the person who stole the Tucks’ horse. • The man in the yellow suit told the Fosters that he knew where the Tucks had taken Winnie.
Chapter 14 • The couch was very uncomfortable to sleep on and Winnie had trouble getting to sleep. • Tuck gave Winnie a kiss. • Jesse wanted Winnie to drink the spring water when she was 17 so they could get married.
Chapter 15 • The Fosters sold some of their wood to the man in the yellow suit in exchange of getting their daughter back. • The man in the yellow suit told the Fosters that the Tucks were rough country people. • The man in the yellow suit told Mrs. Foster that she couldn't come with them to get her daughter.
Chapter 16 • The man in the yellow suit reported to the constable that Winnie had been kidnapped. • The constable was surprised that the Fosters sold some of their land to the man in the yellow suit. • The man in the yellow suit went to the Tucks home before the constable did.
Miles and Winnie got up early and went fishing. • Miles caught a fish. • Winnie begged Miles to put the fish back into the pond because she didn’t want it to die. Chapter 17
Chapter 18 • The Tucks and Winnie only had flapjacks for breakfast because Winnie made Miles put the fish back. • The man in the yellow suit arrived at the Tuck’s house. • Winnie thought Tuck was the dearest of all the Tucks.
Chapter 19 • The man in the yellow suit tried to take Winnie against her will. • He asked the Tucks if they wanted to help him sell the magic spring water. • Mae hit the man in the yellow suit in the back of the head with the stock of the shotgun. • The constable caught Mae hitting the man in the yellow suit.
Chapter 20 • Winnie told the constable that the Tucks didn’t kidnap her. • The constable told Mae that she had to be locked up and if the man in the yellow suit dies she will be sent to the gallows. • The constable took Winnie home.
Chapter 21 • Winnie’s grandma thought that the elves kidnapped her. • The constable told the Fosters that the man in the yellow suit died. • The constable said that Mae Tuck would be sent to the gallows.
Chapter 22 • Jesse came and told Winnie that Miles had an idea of how to get Mae out of jail. • Jesse told Winnie that he would not see her for a very long time. • Winnie told Jesse that she was going to help them break Mae out of jail.
Chapter 23 • It was extremely hot outside. • She put the bottle of magic spring water into her drawer. • There was a brownish yellow haze in the sky and the air was thick. • Winnie was being impatient waiting for it to become midnight.
Chapter 24 • At midnight Jesse took Winnie to the jailhouse. • There was a bad storm at midnight. • Winnie and the Tucks broke Mae out of jail. • Winnie switched places with Mae at the jailhouse.
Chapter 25 • The constable found Winnie in the jail cell. • Winnie would of gone to jail for breaking Mae out if she were older. • The gallows were blown over in the wind. • Winnie gave the frog the magic spring water.
Epilogue • The forest in Tree gap burned down. • Winnie died in 1948. • The Tucks went back to Tree gap to look for Winnie. • The Foster’s cottage was gone.
