Some of the staffs are also interest on homogeneous catalysts, employing complex coordination compounds, and phase transfer catalysts, employing macro molecule e.g. crown ether. • Heterogeneous Catalysis: • We are currently interested on (1) A gas phase emission reduction system of NOX and SOX ; (2) Transformation of eugenol-isoeugenol and other natural product species; (3) Modification of alumina, silicon oxide bentonites and zeolites, with transition metals for special purposes, e.g. hydrogenation of benzene to cyclohexane. • Heterogeneous Photo catalysis: • We are currently exploring (1) how to manage immobilized TiO2 film coated on to an inner wall of glass column tube as a photo catalytic reactor and test the reactor for the degradation of toxic organic compounds and disinfect the water; (2) Study a photo catalytic reduction of CO2 to produce alcohols; (3) Develop a route to produce nano size and nano tube of TiO2 • Others: • There is also a minor activities on the study of catalytic properties of complex coordination compounds and macromolecules. • Members: • Internal: • Wahyudi Priyono Suwarso; Jarnuzi Gunlazuardi; Widayanti Wibowo; Ridla Bakri; Yuni Krisnandi; Riwandi Sihombing; Hedi Surahman. • Affiliate: • Slamet (Chemivcal Engineering, Univ. of Indonsia); Suhardono (Gas & Petroleum Institute); Winarti Andayani Lindu (National Nuclear Energy Agency) • Grants: • DRPM-FMIPA-UI (current); Osaka Gas Foundation for Cultural Exchange (current and past); P3M-DIKTI (past); RUT-KMNRTLIPI (past) • Selected Publications: • Slamet, H.W.
