OBJECTIVES • To promote a new generation of independent Egyptian cinema artists reducing the distance between them and the audience • To enhance Egyptian Filmmaking Art and to promote it throughout Egypt and abroad • To encourage youths to join this field and to support the development of the cinema production sector • To stress the role of cinema as a tool for culture and increasing awareness • To open new channels for artistic expression

PHASES RISING STARSPROJECT ACTIONS YOUNG EGYPTIAN FILMMAKERS PUBLIC AWARNESS • Itinerant Cinema Festival (Cairo-PortSaid-Minya) • n°3 Rising Stars Screenings with Q&A • Media TVs, Newspapers • Social Networks • Visibility Actions • A 60 days Training on Documentary Production(Scriptwriting, Direction, DOP,Sound,Editing); • Production of: • n°5 Short Docs; • n°1 Photo Exhibition • DVDs containing the Short Docs and a promotional trailer.

PHASES Workshop and Short Doc Production • Trainings • Focused on the documentary production • 5 Subjects(Direction, Script, DoP, Sound, Editing) • “Learning by doing” and “exchanging roles” • National and International Trainers • Short Doc Production • Whole process: form the script to the editing • Open subject • Still Photo Collection • DVDs and Trailer production • Promotion to International Film Festival

RESULTS Workshop & Production • Participants:14 participants over 20 selected • Documentaries:4 short docs produced • Festival in Cairo:600 visitors in 3 days • Facebook event:520participants • Voting on line:313 on line votes over a total of 491 • 1st RS screening: 80 participants (oct 2011) Film Festival & RS Screenings • Project website:10.034 visitors in 10 months • Facebook page:543I like in 10 months • 1.485monthlyactive users • Film Fest website:816 visitors in 2 weeks Media & Social Networks
