Introduction - General • XCON Conference Framework defines a Conference Object • Conference Object consists of:- • Common Conference Information • Conference Templates • Conference Blueprint is a combination of the above (as per XCON Conference Framework) • Common Conference Info + Template
Introduction - General • What is a Template? • Defines the media of a conference • Media controls for participants • Media mixing rules for the mixer • Defines Controls (e.g. Mute, Pause, Layout) • Enable/Disable capability • Support for ‘Floor’ • Multiple scenario support in single Template XSD • Avoid template explosion
Introduction - General • What is a Blueprint? • Specifies Conference settings – Common Conference Information + Templates • It is an XML file (based on Template XSD)
Document Overview • Current version consists of :- • Schemas/blueprints for common conference scenarios • Basic-Audio • Basic-Video • Basic-Text • Basic-Audio-Video • Placeholders for other schemas/blueprints • Advanced-Audio • Advanced-Video • Multimedia • ……………
Open Issues/Discussion • Need to agree on the functionality boundaries for templates • E.g. Controls contained in Basic-Audio/Advanced-Audio • Need input from the WG • ‘Single Namespace’ vs ‘Namespace per template’ (Inside or out discussion)
Way Forward • Need to align draft ‘draft-jennings-xcon-media-control’ • Cover wider range of templates in next version (as discussed in Conference Scenario document) • Advanced Audio, Multimedia etc. • Collapse templates to reduce repetition • Complete currently listed templates • Input required from XCON WG
