  19. What do we mean by area in Math? • Area= number of square units in a figure. • Square units can be in inches, cm, feet, miles, meters, etc.

  20. If each tile = 1 ft on each side, then, each tile = 1 square foot.

  21. Tiles help us understand area!

  22. How many square units does a inch wide tile represent? 1 inch 1 inch

  23. 1 square inch = 1 square tile 1 inch 1 inch
