MOMENTUM MARBLE LAB - Each person Write an ENTIRE Lab Report (all 10 sections) you may work with up to 2 others MATERIALS- 5 marbles, ruler, pen / pencil paper - PROCEDURE 1. Put the ruler on a flat surface. 2. Place 1 marble on the ruler. 3. Roll a second marble down the groove of the ruler so it hits the first one. 4. Repeat this test. 5. Set 2 marbles on the ruler. Roll a third one into them. 6. Try rolling at least 4 different combos of marbles down the ruler. Record the different combos. You can even roll more than one marble at once. OBSERVATIONS: Record the table in your Observations section ANALYSIS and CONCLUSION questions 1-What happens in #3 and #5? 2-Do you get the same results in #4 3- What are you observations about how the marbles moved when they were hit? 4- All of your marbles are the same size. What do you think would happen if you rolled a bigger marble into a smaller one? 5- When the marbles hit each other, the momentum moves from one marble to another. Can you think of another example of when momentum is transferred?
