  3. Main Characters, Setting, and problem • Main Character is Lucas Cott. • The problem is that Lucas is the Class Clown. They Can”t stop him from clowning around. • The setting is in Mrs. Hockaday’s third grade and at home.

  4. First Line • “The first Tuesday in October was very much like any other day in Mrs. Hockaday’s third grade.”

  5. Impressive lines or quotes • “Lucas tried to slide his head out of the hole. Although his head had gone in without any difficulty, it didn’t seem to fit through the hole now.” • Mrs. Cott turned the pages until her finger stopper at the word OB-STRER-OUS resisting control in a noisy matter.”

  6. Last Line • And he hurried home with the pink note, the yellow report card, and the three pencils-including the one that was half red- half blue.
