Class Clown • By Johanna Hurwitz • Created by Lisanne Wassink
About the Author • Has written many books • She has worked as a children's librarian • Now lives in Great Neck, New York with her Husband and two children
Main Characters, Setting, and problem • Main Character is Lucas Cott. • The problem is that Lucas is the Class Clown. They Can”t stop him from clowning around. • The setting is in Mrs. Hockaday’s third grade and at home.
First Line • “The first Tuesday in October was very much like any other day in Mrs. Hockaday’s third grade.”
Impressive lines or quotes • “Lucas tried to slide his head out of the hole. Although his head had gone in without any difficulty, it didn’t seem to fit through the hole now.” • Mrs. Cott turned the pages until her finger stopper at the word OB-STRER-OUS resisting control in a noisy matter.”
Last Line • And he hurried home with the pink note, the yellow report card, and the three pencils-including the one that was half red- half blue.
Dedication • For David Reuther
Recommendation(1-5) • I would give this book a four because it’s funny and a very good book.
