  2. Analyze: If the limit approaches ∞ or -∞ from right or left as x approaches c, then there is a vertical asymptote at x=c

  3. Vertical Asymptotes Given If possible, remove any discontinuity. Then, if, as x approaches c, g(x) = 0; then h(x) has a vertical asymptote at x = c Example

  4. Limit Properties • ∞ + or – a number (L) is still ∞ • ∞ ● L (positive) is +∞ and ∞ ● L (negative) is -∞ • L / ∞ is 0
