Delhi School of Journalism to begin short term  courses for working journalists      Delhi School of Journalism –​The Delhi School of Journalism (DSJ) might as well  begin short-term courses for working journalists from the upcoming academic  session, as was originally provisioned in the ordinance under which the school was  established, an official from the university was quoted as saying by IANS report. The  newly-set up a school which is running its second batch for a five-year integrated  course in Masters in Journalism, also had among its objectives starting short-term  courses for working journalists and students, noted the report.  1   

  2.   “Since we are a new college and have just started our second batch, things are bound  to take some time. But we are planning to start the short-term courses by 2020 latest,  and if we can, we will start the courses from 2019,” Manasvini Yogi,  Officer-on-Special-Duty for DSJ, told the news agency. Among the courses, she said,  the school is mulling a course for digital journalism and may conduct classes on  weekends for the working professionals. “We will have to see about all that. Too  early to talk about the kind of courses we will start. But a course in digital journalism  will be there and since these would be for working journalists, the classes may be  held on weekends,” Yogi said.  The school was set up in 2017 with a batch of 120 students. At present, there are 218  students across the two batches.   3. by nurturing a pool of minds that could gather and transmit information without  ● adulteration, to strengthen the democratic processes and the governance systems  by instilling a sense of responsibility into the personal and professional conduct of the  ● students, so as to preserve the culture of peace, development and order in society  by developing and enriching the discipline of Journalism through inter-disciplinary  ● modules, innovative pedagogical techniques and integration of critical insights into  the teaching, learning and professional schemes.  Focus  The Delhi School of Journalism will focus on imparting knowledge and skills to the  prospective students in the following areas:  Media and Communication  ● Writing for Media  ● News Reporting and Editing; Programming for Media  ● Media Production in all Formats – Print, Broadcast (TV and Radio), Film and Online  ● Media Technology  ● Communication for Development  ● New and Social Media  ● Multimedia  ● Foreign and Regional Languages  ● The Delhi School of Journalism (DSJ) is housed at the University Sports Stadium –  North Campus. DSJ has an eco-friendly and spacious campus with the state of the art  academic infrastructure. The serene and picturesque site will enhance the academic  pursuits of journalism students at DSJ. It is only five minutes’ walk from the  Vishwavidyalaya Metro Station.
