When To Involve The Behavior Staff • As soon as there is a pattern of behavior with a student and strategies and reinforcements have not been successful at the school level. • After a BMP or BIP has been implemented and no progress is being made.

How and When to Request Related Services For Behavior • Start with the IEP (goal pages) • Progress Monitor • Review Data • Email Peggy Darnell • Make sure services are reflected on IEP • Do not add or increase related services • without prior approval.
Region 4 Children’s Services Region IV Basic Information Region IV Services Include: Individual, group, and family therapy Case Management Day Treatment-School Bases and Preschool School Based Nursing Services Psychiatric Services—Risk Assessments MAP Team • The main office is located in Hernando at 2725 Highway 51 South • The phone number is 662-449-1808. The on call/after hours phone number is 1-888-287-4443. • Hours of operation are 8:00-5:00 Monday through Friday. • Children’s Services are reimbursed by most private insurances including Medicaid and CHIPS. Services may also be based on a sliding fee schedule that is determined by family size and income.
Additional Trainings Provided by DCS Behavior Department • CPI Trainings- 2 day for new faculty, 1 day for refresher course • The Roles of the Behavior Team- 30 mins (Very encouraged for Middle Schools/ High Schools) • Autism & Meltdowns- 45 mins -1 hour • Buying into Progress Monitoring- 45 mins - 1 hour • Teaching Replacement Behaviors while teaching the class - 45mins- 1 hour • Strategies/ Interventions to Implement Prior to Requesting Behavior Services- 45 mins -1 hour • Sensory Integration for the General Ed & Sped Classroom- 45 mins -1 hour • 13 Categories of Disabilities- and Overview of disabilities and strategies for each - 45 mins -1 hour • The “Extra Curriculars” & Special Education
