Celebration at Birmingham University • Wednesday, 16thOctober 4.15 – 6pm Year 7 Settling in Evening:meet the tutors, learn more about how the school works and ask any questions. • Second Hand Uniform: If you have any requirements, please see Mrs Baxter and fill in a uniform request sheet.

What to be wearing when leaving KECHG • You will need to travel in clothes suitable for your first activity. There will be little time to change • You must wear your trip sweatshirt • Check your handbook for your activity
Activity wear • For all outdoor activities you must wear • Long sleeve top, Jumper or fleece, Long trousers (not jeans, ¾ length trousers, shorts), Old trainers (which must not come into the centre if wet or muddy!) • Dance: clothes easy to move in (lots of stretch!) • Batik: appropriate indoor wear, normal clothes
Advised Kit List: please name all items of clothing and towels • Old trainers for outdoor x 2 • travel shoes • Slippers/ Flipflops • 2/3 long sleeved tops • 2/3 pairs of trousers • A jumper or fleece • Lightweight waterproof coat • Pyjamas • Wash kit (no spray deodorants) • 2 towels • Baseball Cap (optional) • Dirty washing bag • Personal medication • Water bottle
You may also bring, but they are your responsibility... • A camera • Around £30 in £1/£5 (no £20 notes) for the gift shop. • A mobile phone. There are a few plug sockets in the dormitories which need to be shared. Ensure all cameras and mobile phones are fully charged before you leave.
You must NOT bring • Electrical appliances such as straighteners and extension leads will be confiscated as they are a fire risk) • Valuable items (dormitories are not locked and you will not be able to take these items with you) • Aerosol Sprays
Luggage • No Large suitcases, there is nowhere to store them • Make sure your daughter can: • Carry her own luggage (there are stairs!) • Pack her own luggage when leaving Please label all belongings
FOOD • All main meals and drink breaks are provided by the centre. The food is of a very high quality, with a wide range to choose from, all cooked fresh on the premises.
Follow the School Code of Conduct • Follow the instructions of both school staff and the staff at the centre • Give support to all members of your team throughout activities • Long sleeves and full length trousers must be worn for all activities • Mobile phones should be kept safe • Food must not be consumed in dorms • You should remain in dorms between 10.00pm and 7.30am unless there is an emergency
TEAMWORK & POINTS • Throughout the trip, your form will be able to earn (or be fined!) points • These points will be collated by Miss Meredith and Miss Simmonitewho will give a running update • Most points will be earned by showing team work skills during the activities, but also for helpfulness and good manners.
