  1. It’s May 3rd and as I write this I am in the middle of finals. This semester has been nothing but amazing. I have witnessed poor people who were the richest people I know. I have witnessed rich people who didn’t know how blessed they were. And through it all, I can see God working in everything. He blesses everyone and if we will let him lead, we will see him working in us. This picture is the fruit market in Torreon, Mexico. Outside and inside this market you see everyday people just trying to make a living. You will see men unloading fresh fruit out of the back of pickups. While I am not a big fruit eater, most of thefruit I saw, I had never seen or heard of before. This market also had shoes, clothes and almostanything you might want to buy. It was truly amazing! As I said above, we are in the middle of finals and I feel like I have been kicked by a mule. I completed 3 finals today and have 4 more to go before the end of the week. While I was looking forward to coming back to Michigan this summer and seeing all who have been supporting our work here, it seems that the Lord has other plans for me. I regret that I will not be able to spend the summer back home in Michigan. However, I know that the Lord will bless me as I continue my studies throughout the summer. Starting May 11th I will start a two week class. In the month of June, I will have 3 classes and then again in July, I will have 3 more classes. From May 11 through July 25 I will be completing 16 credit hours of classes. Lord willing, I will have three weeks off in August before I start the fall semester and start the 2nd year of the program. I am currently scheduled for 19 credit hours in the fall and am looking forward to starting Greek classes in August. The family is doing great, Mary and kids are staying well, and dad has become a part of the family. I truly believe the dog loves him more than she loves us, especially at dinner time. Please keep us in your prayers as we continue in this journey. We trust that the Lord will guide us in our mission and show us the way. God Bless Barry , Mary and the Kids
