Meiosis is the process that reduces the number of chromosomes in reproductive cells. Xylem are the tubes that transport water and nutrients. Phloem are the tubes that carry food. A long term relationship between different kinds of organisms is called symbiosis. An instinct is a behavior that an organism inherits. A food chain shows how the consumers in an ecosystem. Decomposers are consumers that break down the dead organisms.
