  3. What is Podcasting? • Audio files in MP3, WAV or other format • RSS (syndication) “automatic for the people!” • Like a magazine subscription – but delivered to your computer! • Listen anytime, anywhere!

  9. What to do with all these podcasts? • Use a podcatcher! • Makes it easy to collect many feeds in one place! • Two kinds: • Download and install – free! • Web-based – free & no installation!

  18. How are they used in education? • Provide links to relevant podcasts on class websites. • Record and distribute college or community news broadcasts. • Foreign language lessons recorded for practice and review. • Recorded lectures.

You too can podcast! • First create audio: • Audacity (free!), Adobe Audition, GarageBand, Pro Tools, etc. • Then choose hosting solution: • Internal – your own server/computer • External – Internet Archive, free and for fee options • Create your RSS feed: • Poderator, Feedburner, Roll your own
