  5. How to use the prefixes • The prefix goes before the base word • Example: cm = centimeter Prefix Base

  6. Practice with Prefixes • One hundredth of a meter • Ten grams • One hundred liters

  9. How to convert between units Ex: Convert 1 m to cm 1. Write the unit you’re starting with over 1 2. Find the appropriate conversion 1 m = 100 cm 3. Line up the units so they cross out
