Making a Scientific Booklet • Your task is to design and compile a booklet about First Aid by collecting news items and information from print and internet sources. • You need to have at least one page for each topic
Booklet Components • 1. At the start of the booklet you need a TITLE PAGE – this presents the name of the booklet and your own name. • 2. Table of Contents • 3. Introduction • 4. The main content of the booklet arranged in chapters – indicate the page on which the chapter begins
Booklet Components • 5. At the end of your booklet you will need a bibliography or references to your sources of information or other acknowledgments • 6. Index to include terms/concepts/names and page numbers – where they are mentioned (alphabetical)

Breathing in Fumes • In a lab it is possible to be exposed to dangerous fumes. • For this injury you need to explain the basic first aid which should be given. • Then you must give an example of a situation when it would be dangerous to give first aid.
Swallowing Dangerous Chemicals • In a lab there is a potential risk of ingesting chemicals. • For this type of injury you need to explain the basic first aid which should be given. • Then you must give an example of a situation when it would be dangerous to give first aid.

First Aid Training • Your task is to name organisations that deliver First Aid training and list their contact addresses and web sites
Emergency First Aid Procedure • You arrive at a lesson early and find a student unconscious on the floor. What actions should you take next, explain your reasons.
Recognised First Aid Certificates • If you hold a first aid certificate awarded by a recognised organisation you need to get it photocopied and include it in your booklet.
