  3. Career of the week • Petroleum Geologist • Major: geophysics, or any geoscience major • Average Annual Pay: $106,780 • Setting: Oil industry. Office and field work • Description: Generally, the duty of a petroleum geologist is to discover the location and amount of useful fuel in sediments or reservoirs.
