  8. Basic Organizational Principles • Optimizing Text Size for Projections • Section Dividers • Content Organization • Charts and Graphs

  9. Projected Presentations: Organizational Principles • Concision, simplicity and narrative structure are particularly important in creating successful projected presentations • Projected slides must generally contain much less information than pitch book pages • For slides that are more complex, it is often helpful to include a concluding statement that helps summarize the purpose of the slide Less is often more Section Title

  10. Optimizing Text Size for Projections Titles and summary points are 28pt, subtitles are 18pt. This is an example of a longer subtitle lorem ipsum dolor sit amet consectetur. Projected Heading 1: 18pt This font size is ideal for slides with 2 to 4 key ideas or bullet points. Projected Heading 2: 16pt This font size is ideal for slides with 4-6 key ideas or bullet points, or fewer if paired with a chart or other graphic. Projected Heading 3: 14pt This is the smallest recommended body copy size for projected presentations, and should be used for slightly more complex content, like tables or flowcharts and diagrams. Captions: 11pt Footnotes, captions and graphics labels should be set in 11pt type. If necessary, Arial Narrow can be used for chart and graphics labels. Section Title

  11. Projected Presentations: Section Dividers Section Divider Examples • Consider including a table of contents at each new section highlighting the current section • This helps give the audience a better sense of the structure of the presentation when they do not have a handout to follow Make your presentations simple but engaging Section Title

  12. Projected Presentations: Content Organization Projected slides generally require greater editing. Below is an example of a printed slide divided into two more succinct, screen-optimized slides. Printed Slide Projected Slides Section Title
