Practice – Identify the literary, technical, and performance elements in the following; • Angie: What's going on Harmony? I don't get it, why is it when you become a teenager everything gets so confusing? I mean, what are they doing, spiking the make-up? Is there some unwritten law that when you become a teenager you move into the realm of insanity? If I remember correctly, that's about the time everything started getting nutty. Think about it...I'm supposed to wash my face BEFORE I exercise to prevent build-up. No, I'm supposed to wash my face AFTER I exercise to prevent break-outs. I'm NOT SUPPOSED to eat chocolate because it causes pimples. Wait, I'm SUPPOSED to eat chocolate before I take a test, because it's great, "brain food." I'm SUPPOSED to have lots of foods hat are rich in iron to help my circulation. Hold on, now, I'm NOT SUPPOSED to have a lot of iron because it prevents my body from absorbing calcium properly. Wow, if I can survive being a confused teenager, I think I can pretty much survive anything! (Change of heart) Let's get out of here, I'm hungry!

The Art of China-Qin Dynasty • The art of the Qin Dynasty focused on centralizing the authority of the emperor. • This was demonstrated by sculptures of warriors made out of terracotta clay that were made to protect the emperor in the afterlife. • During this dynasty, books were burned and much of China’s culture was lost in the Qin’s attempts to centralize authority.
The Art of China-Han Dynasty • The art of the Han Dynasty focused on restoring the cultural loss suffered by China under the Qin Dynasty. • Scroll paintings were the primary art form and used ink and brushes to create beautiful landscapes, images of animals, or flowers on silk or paper. • Scroll paintings would usually contain some sort of inspirational message that would be revealed as the scroll was opened.
The Art of China-Tang/Song Dynasties • The Tang/Song Dynasties came into power after a period of short lived dynasties. During this time, Buddhism was brought in by the Silk Road and many people had converted. • As a result, some of the most beautiful pagodas were constructed. • These architectural pieces of art were often constructed using wood to create places of worship for newly converted Buddhists.
