The Concern…. • Our leaders of Lutheran Church Canada are observing the Bible is not used on a day-to-day basis • Why the concern: • Without deeper Biblical knowledge it becomes difficult to respond to our relation with social culture • Without deeper Biblical knowledge we lose the comfort it brings us • Without deeper Biblical knowledge we lose the shape/mind of Christ

Discipleship Task Force WHAT is the work: • Identify methods to increase Bible literacy and Christian discipleship. • Generate and/or identify materials to promote Bible literacy and Christian discipleship. • Recommend means and methods for placing the materials into the hands of LCC pastors and congregational members

  5. Distraction Factors • What takes us ‘off-roading’ and away from reading God’s word? • What could help us get back on the road?

  6. Need YOUR input ! Give all your ideas to promote growth in the use of our Bibles! • Survey Questionnaire • Write as much as you want! • Hand in to Pastor • Scan and email it to the email address on the survey • Mail it to ABC District Office, Attention: Daryl Becker (address is on the survey) • Go online and answer the survey!

Ideas….. • Bible study material? • Accessibility to Devotions online? • Teen Devotions online? • Age group targeted devotions • Podcasts? • Central website with materials that can be downloaded? • Focused materials on: • Current Issues (living together, homosexuality, etc.) • Bible Literacy • Stewardship • Conflict • Outreach
