MALCONTENTS 1. Complained to the Trustees that no slaves and land limitations (limited amount; women could not inherit w/o male in household) kept them from competing economically with the other colonies—other colonies could produce crops more cheaply and thus charge a cheaper price. They also complained about the restriction on liquor. 2. In 1750, the trustees give in to the malcontents and lift the ban on slavery even though the Scottish highlanders and Salzburgers wanted to keep the ban on slavery. Land restrictions were ultimately lifted as well.
