  1. HSPS Summer RendezvousPhoto Album Tower Marine Douglas/Saugatuck, Michigan June 27-29, 2014

  2. On Friday, June 27, HSPS members & guests started arriving in Douglas/Saugatuck to enjoy a well-planned weekend of boating and friendship.

  3. Several members had their power or sailing vessels at Tower Marinefor the event.

  4. The Tower Marine Deck was the scene for the Friday Evening Pitch-In Dinner.

  5. As members & guests arrived, cocktails were enjoyed and food was laid out.

  6. The table was so bountiful that it was difficult to decide what to try first.

  7. Everyone seemed to enjoy the evening and there as a nice breeze that kept us comfortable on the water.

  8. The special delivery of a new dinghy was well timed, as it was useful in commuting across Kalamazoo Lake between Douglas and Saugatuck.

  9. On Saturday, some members sailed while others enjoyed the pool. That evening, everyone prepared for dinner at the Coral Gables.

  10. Before dinner, David & Fred detailed how they had failed to secure oars for their new dinghy. This was a concern when the motor stuttered in mid crossing. Aware of this incident, Nancy and Holly made a Presentation of Oars to them both.

  11. Everyone chatted about the day as wonderfully prepared, and plentiful, dishes arrived.

  12. Good food always makes for happy faces.

  13. After dinner, a stroll through Saugatuck culminated at the local ice cream store for desert.

  14. Special Thanks to the Event Coordinators: Sandy & Jeff Melin Joy & Alan Hyde Kathleen & Lewis Miller In addition to planning and coordinating everything detailed here, they also provided breakfast for those interested. Yes, that’s a snake smoking a cigar. Nothing to do with boating but it was funny at the time.
