  1. Lord of the Flies Chapter 1 Summary

  2. A plane that was carrying a group of schoolboys who were trying to escape a war was shot down

  3. Ralph and Piggy meet, explore a little, and find a conch in the water

  4. Ralph, with help from Piggy and several practice rounds, blew into the conch, which made a horn-like sound

  5. The boys from the crash assembled on the beach after hearing the conch, all of them unsure what the sound was

  6. Jack, Simon, and the choir boys were introduced

  7. Ralph was elected as the chief

  8. Ralph appointed Jack to be in charge of the hunters

  9. Piggy was made fun of by the boys. He was immediately disliked because he talked too much.

  10. Jack, Ralph, and Simon climbed up the mountain to make sure that they were on an island

  11. It’s an island!

  12. On their way back down the mountain, the three boys encountered their first wild pig. Jack froze and failed to kill it.
