  2. Non-Profit, no-kill operations have specific budgetary and logistical concerns. The goal of this project is to raise awareness of the special needs of these types of organizations and to organize local fund-raising events. Introduction

  3. To learn about the problems of animal control. To raise community awareness. To raise funds through donations. To learn the financial needs of a non-profit organization. ProjectOverview

  4. Through a local elementary school, enlist school children to help with fundraising and raising awareness. Explain ways of donating: contributions of time and money. Explain ways of helping to curb the problem of animal control. Community Aspects of the Project Bob Barker says "Help control the pet population. Have your pet spayed or neutered."

Skills Achieved • Learned Power Point • Sharpened Excel and TI-84Plus skills • Learned to retrieve Camcorder footage through VCR, then VCR images through Windows Movie Maker for editing • Learned to organize a fund-raiser • Learned costs involved with animal care. • Learned inner-operational procedures between animal control centers • Learned Bureaucracy • Worked on Communication, organization and networking skills

  9. Project Results • We did raise awareness. • Gathered small donations in form of change by utilizing Team #2. • Garnered donations from friends. • Expect to gather more donations via a Fund-Drive competition to be held at Elm Tree Elementary School.

  10. Project Ideas for Future • Complete the Raffle we did not get done. • Hold a donation drive at Petco. • Fix Lone Pines Website.
