Business Overview • Our company’s primary purpose is to create business value in the form of online sale of branded watches. • Our inventory database will be searchable by brand name and also the price range. • Initial costs will be relatively low as compared to traditional brick and mortar stores, with inventory costs taking up the bulk of our start up budget
Business Needs • To provide branded watches to customers in an efficient, comfortable environment, without environmental or geographical restraints. • This project should make shopping simple and enjoyable for the customer in order to facilitate regular shopping. • The project should also streamline company operations by optimizing inventory through precise sales tracking and reducing operation costs.
Business Needs cont…. • We need to capture and build upon online sales • We need to provide easy access and navigation through the website. • We need to provide excellent customer service to attract customers.
Business Requirements For Customers: • The website should be easily searchable by certain keywords. Ex: Popular brands, Price range…..etc • User accounts stores customers information to build customer relation and attract repeated purchases. Ex: Payment information, Purchase history……etc • A front end system which provides invoice and status information to customers.

For Management: • Record sales statistics and tracking. • To optimize inventory by retaining a larger inventory of better selling items and smaller inventory of poorer selling items. • Periodically create sales and inventory reports. • Customer Feedback. • Receive customer reviews for improvement. • Special offers or discounts as incentives to participating customers. • Database Management. • Handled by Microsoft Access Ex: General ledger, Accounts receivable, Accounts payable…etc
Business Value Business Values: • Increase sales by reaching a broader market independent of geographical location. • Reduce operating costs: • Centralize inventory. • Greatly reduces staffing requirements • Optimize inventory operations. • Customer satisfaction through: • Simple intuitive store interface • Fast and reliable product delivery • A relatively larger collection of products than a storefront.

Through our searchable inventory, we will be able to provide our client’s needs. • We will be able to monitor inventory and place orders regularly depending on the demand. In addition, by steadily increasing our market share, we expect to increase our services to customers. • Conservative estimates of tangible business values include $850,000 in annual sales from new customers.
Special Issues/Constraints • This system must be fully integrated and transition from website to database must be flawless. • This system should be fully functional in a limited time. • Permissions from top branded companies is required. • Without previous web sales department, training will be required. • Concurrency with modern industry standards, contracts with purchase, verification software(VeriSign…etc) will be required.
