Sushi Azabu @ Isetan The Japan Store, Kuala Lumpur

Wow! We’ve finally dined in Sushi Azabu at Isetan The Japan Store. So much I’ve read about this New York-based (Michelin starred) sushi den but never once step foot until recently. It was a very special experience because this was the very first time Mr Gadget had ever taken me to an omakase sushi restaurant. This was also his first ever to one since he’s still not used to the idea of raw meat/ fish. Well, the good thing is he’s pretty adventurous with food, although burgers and pizza will always be his first choice. I was contented he’d actually suggested to take me there since I’m the one who loves a good sashimi and sushi.

  3. SUSHI AZABU @ ISETAN THE JAPAN STORE, KUALA LUMPUR Wow! We both settled for the Azabu Course (RM220++) consisting a small appetizer, two kinds of sashimi, chawan-mushi, palate refresher, 7 pieces nigiri, roll sushi, miso soup, dessert and we also paired it with three types of sake (RM150++). What’s a Japanese dinner without sake, right? To start, we were served Umeshu (plum wine) and our appetizer – cold tofu with crab meat. I’m beginning to suspect Mr Gadget is a better drinker than I am though he denies it. He loved the Umeshu and finished it within seconds, maybe because it was sweet (he has a super sweet tooth).
