It was only as early as 6PM on a Saturday when we were passing by The Tokyo Restaurant and seeing this place buzzing with crowd already. It was pretty much the same when we came back again for dessert 2 hours later. Well I shouldn’t be surprised at all. It is renowned for its cheese cake and I’m pretty sure many of you foodies would’ve tried it before.

It was pretty much the same when we came back again for dessert 2 hours later. Well I shouldn’t be surprised at all. It is renowned for its cheese cake and I’m pretty sure many of you foodies would’ve tried it before. The restaurant was fairly spacious and was divided into 3 sections; the bar/ lounge, dining area, open kitchen with booth seats. We asked to be seated at the lounge since we were only going to have dessert and drinks anyway (also because the sofa seats were bigger and comfortable!). Come to think of it, we were lucky to even secure a table with the crowd that’s constantly flowing in. The 6th Avenue Cheese Cake (RM19) topped with a dollop of whipped cream is the highlight of your experience in The Tokyo Restaurant. You DO NOT walk away without an order of this. The cheese cake with a “burnt’ coating instead of crust, seemed to be a perennial favourite with the crowd. It was for us at least. My opinion of the cake hasn’t change from that time we were here for dinner at Sushi Azabu, and then we had this cheese cake for dessert after too. The texture was creamy and smooth, but I personally find it a little too dense. Don’t get me wrong though, it was still tasty and the quality was actually kept consistent! In fact, Mr Gadget wanted a second piece, not until I stopped him. WWW.MISSGETABOUT.COM
