Ambiguous • Definition: unclear • Example: Because the teacher was ambiguous about the date of our quiz, I decided to study a little bit every night.
Ambience • Definition: atmosphere or feeling • Example: The blank walls and high ceiling did not create a cozy ambience in the room.
Ambivalent • Definition: strong opposing feelings • Example: Jessica had ambivalent feelings about dessert; she was on a diet, but everything looked so good.
Amphitheater • Definition: theater with elevated seating • Example: The Roman gladiators fought each other as well as wild beasts in the public amphitheater.
Amble • Definition: move slowly • Example: The couple ambled along the path, stopping occasionally to gaze at the flowers.
