Purpose: Reformation of the Ummah • ‘I have not risen to spread evil or to show off, nor for spreading immorality or oppression, but I have left for the reformation of the nation of my grandfather, Allah’s Messenger. I desire to propagate good and forbid evil, thus following the footsteps of my father and grandfather’. Imam Hussain Ibne Ali a.s.

  5. Karbala : Closing doors... Although many muslim rulers, after Yazid, desired to seek legitimacy for their un-Islamic practices by demanding allegiance of the progeny of the Holy Prophet pbuh, no one after Karabala, dared to demand it of them. No one had the courage to face the backlash and earn the bad name that Yazid earned for himself. And so instead…

Each of the Imams from the progeny of the Holy Prophet was seen as a threat to un-Islamic rule and poisoned. • Imam Ali a.s killed - 21st Ramadan 40 A.H. • Imam Hasan a.s. poisoned - 28th Safar 50 A.H. • Imam Hussain a.s killed -10th Muharram 61 A.H. • Imam Zain-ul Abideen a.s. poisoned – 25th Muharram 95 A.H • Imam Muhammad Al-Baqir a.s. poisoned- 7th Zil-Hajj 114A.H • Imam Jafar As-Sadiq a.s. poisoned – 25th Shawwal 148 A.H. • Imam Musa Al-Kazim a.s poisoned – 25th Rajab 183 A.H • Imam Ali Ar-Raza a.s. poisoned – 17th Safar 203 AH • Imam Muhammad Taqi a.s.poisoned – 29th Dhiqaad 220 AH • Imam Ali Naqi a.s. poisoned – 26th Jamadi-us-Sani 254 AH • Imam Hasan Askari a.s.poisoned- 8th Rabbi-ul-awwal 260AH

  7. A final prayer... • Allah swt has made it obligatory to all muslims to pray five times a day • In each prayer, we ask Allah to bless Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) and his family, just as He has blessed Prophet Ibrahim a.s. and his family. • Let us pray that we can find the opportunities to discover and understand as to who we are blessing and why.
