Where • It occurred in Vietnam.
With Who • North Vietnam supported by its communist allies and South Vietnam and supported by The United States of America.
why • The United States Government viewed involvement in the war as a way to prevent a communist takeover of South Vietnam.
Post-traumatic stress disorder Is a condition of persistent mental and emotional stress occurring as a result of injury or serve psychological shock, typically involving disturbance of sleep and constant recalling of experience, with dulled responses to others and to the outside world.
Casualties and Wounded • After the war was over there was 58,220 casualties and 303,635 wounded.
Mental Illness • During war Soldiers were coming back with Mental Illness they did not know what caused this until years of research studies show 1 out of 3 came back with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Symptoms and Signs • Explosive Anger, blackouts or difficulty remembering bad things, guilty and many many more.
Causes • Remembering bad things that you go through and see during war.
Medical Treatment for this disorder • People are prescribed medicines and counseling.
How does the sickness affect people • They can not deal with everyday life because of flashbacks from the war.
