  2. The reason for picking this topic The reason why I picked this topic is because I know a lot of people who have experimented with illegal drugs and/or still do drugs to this day. I want to make people aware of the consequences for the choice of doing drugs. I also want to make sure that none of you guys do and illegal drugs during your lifetime.  I would like to recognize my Dad for being 37 days clean from alcohol and illegal drugs.

What I would like my audience to learn...... •  I would like you guys to learn that all illegal drugs are addictive and do have consequences.  •  Driving while you are on drugs is just as bad as driving when your drunk.  •  How you will look if you start to do methamphetamine :) • How you will look if you start to use steroids. • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKjRtZKPHYs a song about being drug free

  4. Questions for the audience •  Does anyone know what these drugs are in the background? • Does anyone know the effects of ecstasy ?  • How many of you know what steroids is ?  • How many people know people who do any drugs? Do you ever talk to them about quitting. 

  5. Fact: While using illegal drugs, a person looses the ability to make decisions. Having poor judgment while on drugs can result in risky sexual behavior, which leads to getting sexual transmitted diseases, car accidents and more unsafe situations (284). Prevention: Talk to a person that you trust about your problems before turning to drugs.

  6. Fact: Drug abusers can be any age and from any background(284). Example: A person that I know who use to use drugs was my mother. She was always "stressed out" So she turned to drugs. Putting my sister and myself in danger.  Prevention: Before judging someone for what they look like try to get to know them you never know if you can be that person that can help them with their problems.

  7. Fact: Illegal drugs such as cocaine can have dangerous and permanent effects on the brain's reward centers and the body such as dilated pupils (284). Q: Why did the blonde snort artificial sweetener? Prevention: Do not come near drugs or people using drugs, and deny all drug offers and peer pressure.

  8. Fact: You can become addicted to almost all illegal drugs (284). Prevention: Do not use drugs and positively influence your friends to do the same. A: she thought it was diet coke

  9. Fact: One reason why teenagers begin using drugs is the desire for experiment (285). Prevention: before you try any drug talk to your closest family member that does not do any drugs. Then talk to them about the consequences of this decision.Also think about the ones you love and what they would think of you if you chose to do drugs. Would you wan them to be disappointed in you?

  10. Fact: Driving high on marijuana is just as bad as driving drunk on alcohol (287). Prevention: Examine the people who drive you around if you know that they are high or drunk " take the keys away" make sure that they do not kill themselves or you.

  11. Facts: 81% of families reported for child maltreatment in which drug abuse is the key problem (302). Prevention: Parents talk to you kids about all of the negative consequences that can take place if they choose to do any drugs. You can also make them read a book or take them to a meeting called NA (narcotics anonymous).

  12. Fact: Inhalants kill many brain cells at one time (291). Prevention: Whenever people are using sharpies, paint thinner, or party poppers keep away. Leave the room and go breath healthy oxygen. Or else you will most likely get a major headache and loose brain cells immediately.

  13. Fact: most athletes work hard to build strength. those who rely on anabolic steroids for muscle building risk not only having dangerous effects but also being banned from their sport. Prevention:Athletes already know the concequence already know the concequence of steroids. They will eventually get caught and kicked off the team. Steriods can cause stuned growth, liver cancer, heart disease, and infertility a few things that affect the body. so stay away from steroids

  14. Fact: ecstasy increased awareness of the senses, hallucinations, increased energy, and loss of judgment. Side effects of ecstasy can include muscle tension, teeth clenching, high blood pressure, impaired learning and memory, nausea, chills, rapid or irregular heart beat, heart attack, brain damage, and even death. Prevention: the prevention for this it to not take ecstasy because there is a big risk of having sexual intercourse because ecstasy makes you want to touch and feel skin. Another reason why you should not do ecstasy is because in makes you loose weight easier... not a healthy way of loosing weight!!! you can also become addicted to this drug. stay away from raves or if you do go to them don't accept any drug offers. You can also over heat and die.
