  2. Before We Begin…. • Except for the restrooms, please do not leave the room or wander in the hallway • (we are guests of Richland School and responsible for any damages) • PLEASE no horseplay in the hallways

What Is This Meeting About? • Team & Parent orientation • Meet Coach & Assistant Coach • Recruit Parental Help • One Field Worker per team (All Age Groups) • One Referee per team – Divisions 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U • Several needed in 10U(No Ref, No Game) • Provide information • Review basic rules policies

Important Dates 2019 • Full Referee Training–March 30th - Mt Calvary Church 8 AM • Field Day/Coach Equip. pickup Saturday – April, 13th begin 9AM • 1st day of Practices (4U/5U-16U) - Monday, April 15th • 1st day of Inter-Regional Games for 12U & 14U – April 29 • 1st day for Games(4U-10U) - May 6th • Soccerfest Picture Day – Saturday, May 11th • Richland AYSO Soccer Tournament – Saturday, June 15th • Free in Person Coach Training – 6U, 8U, 10U, & 12U – TBD

  11. Soccerfest / Picture Day • Saturday, May 11th - 9am – 2pm • Team picture will be taken first. • ½ hour after pictures team will play game vs willing parents. Game will be 2(10) minute halves. • 4U/5U – 10U

  14. 4U Playground Group Not enough for a true 4U program so we added 2 or 3 kids per team in 5U. Games will consist of 4v4 short sided games.

  15. Free Online Training • New Online Training – Login into richlandayso.com and click on “AYSOU” tab. • Safe haven – *Free & Required for all Volunteers. • CDC Concussion Awareness –*Free & Required for all Volunteers. • Will offer 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U courses in person. Date TBD.

  16. Field Information • Fields in use this year • MET Life (4U/5U/6U/8U/10U) • UPJ Fields (below and next to the MET Life Fields) • 12U will use field closest to the lower shed along Schoolhouse Road • 14U/16U will use the field fartherest from the lower shed along Schoolhouse Road

  17. Regional Safety Director • Everyone must work to keep soccer safe.

Proper equipment Shin guards covered by socks Rules of play Heading Not permitted in 6U/8U/10U/12U Slide tackles Not permitted in 4U/5U/6U/8U/10U/12U No jewelry Band aid covering earrings or starter-studs are NOT allowed No splints or casts No toe cleats Don’t dig holes Don’t throw rocks Keep off the goals! Be a GOOD sport Drink The Player’s Role

  19. Check out the fields Ensure your child’s equipment fits properly (Shin Guards completely covered by sock and against skin.) Report accidents Fill out Incident Form and return to Safety Director Blood Rule (Must leave field until entirely cleaned up) Mouth-guards (Optional) Keep “FIDO” at home! NO PETS at any fields AYSO Rules Rules of host fields Parent’s Role

Dates for Referee Training • Richland AYSO course at Mt Calvary Church • Basic Referee Online Companion Course • Saturday, March 30th, 8:00AM • Register as a volunteer on richlandayso.com • Please complete Online Safe haven training and CDC Concussion Awareness Training. • Online Training available Login into richlandayso.com and clicking on AYSOU tab. • Please print and bring both certificates to the Referee Course.

  21. Referee Online Schedule • Schedule available for Referees to signup on Google Docs. • Online Schedule • Referees can signup for Google account with their existing email address. • Will then need to be given permission to site to signup for games.

  23. Canceled Games • A certified referee is REQUIRED for 10U and UP! • Coaches please understand • NO ref = NO game • Coaches - don’t take on the financial liability for any injuries by playing without a ref!

  24. We Have a Problem! • ~316 Registered Players • Over 200 families • ~approx. 150 games scheduled for Spring 2019 season that will require a referee. • We would like coaches to try to recruit one person to ref per team in 8U and UP.

  26. Coach’s Time • Introduce yourself • Short background • How to reach you (phone, e-mail, address, etc) • Hours when it is OK to call (morning & night) • 8U coaches and older. Find a parent on your team willing to take referee course. • 10U Coaches and parents stay for Build Out Line explanation. Coaches excused 10 minutes early to receive their coach packets. Coaches that have not registered as volunteer yet or that need to complete child clearances must do so before first practice. Instructions on how to do both will be provided with coach packets.
