Nordic-Baltic Cooperation on Risk and Capability Assessment Methods

This project aims to develop a methodology for risk and capability assessment in the Nordic-Baltic region, focusing on disaster management. The findings and publications will be disseminated to key actors and experts for future assessments of capability in risk management. The project is led by the Fire and Rescue Department under the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania.

  11. Scenarios, Baltic Sea Region The following 6 scenarios were defined and described in detail in earlier project: EUSBSR 14.3 • Extreme weather/storm • Flooding • Forest fire • Pandemic flu • Accident at Sea • Nuclear accident These scenarios can all have cross-border dimensions of risks.

Our task • Develop a first approach methodology for risk management capability assessment for BSR • This will be introduced in the Baltic Sea Region and further developed in near future • This will contribute to the ongoing process of methodology for risk management capability assessment at EU level.
