  3. CULTURE Latin word – “Cultura” – means ‘to cultivate’ or ‘cultivating the mind’ “Culture is that complex whole, which includes knowledge, belief, art, morals, law, language, custom and any other capabilities acquired by man as a member of the society”

EDUCATION Education in its general sense is a form of learning in which the knowledge, skills, and habits of a group of people are transferred from one generation to the next through teaching, training, or research. Education frequently takes place under the guidance of others, but may also be autodidactic.  Any experience that has a formative effect on the way one thinks, feels, or acts may be considered educational.

Relationship Between Culture and Education • Meaning and concepts of culture testifies to the fact that education and culture are intimately connected. • In broader sense culture is not a part of education but it is education itself. • Cultural pattern of a society determines its educational system.

  12. CONCLUSION Students see teachers who look like them and sound like them and so they can relate to them. It also subconsciously tells them they can be like them. Teachers who live and breathe the culture add a tangible depth to the material when they teach traditional and culture. Those in management and support roles can ensure the support structure, strategic direction and organisational goals align with a strong cultural practice curriculum.
