  2. MSA 699 MSA 699 • The new capstone course, MSA 699, was first taught in Summer 2011.  • The course represents a new approach to the final project.  MSA 699

MSA 699 MSA 699 •  Grading rubrics.  • An important component is that 10% of the student’s MSA 699 grade is based on how well the student’s project connects with the student’s concentration • For example, projects for Human Resources Administration (HRA) students will be assessed on the following two measures: 1. Knowledge of human resources and 2. Managing labor issues  MSA 699

  4. MSA 699 MSA 699 • Other changes in MSA 699 • A change from 12 hours to 24 hours of student/instructor contact/classroom time • New structure for project deadlines.  The expectation is that the project will be completed within the semester that the MSA 699 course is taken. MSA 699

MSA 699 MSA 699 Myths Three Myths 1)The assumption that a full year is available to complete the capstone project.  2) The MSA 600 proposal always forms the basis for the capstone project. 3) A hard copy paper submission is acceptable. The Realties 1) Six months maximum time to complete the project 2) The MSA 600 course paper (proposal) introduces the students how to develop a research proposal.  A well designed research proposal (the MSA 600 paper) might be approved for use as the basis of the final project (MSA 699) but there is no implicit guarantee.  3) All capstone projects be submitted for review electronically MSA 699
