Art Galleries on the Internet • Introduction • Analyzing trustworthiness of Http://www.amsterdam-artgallery.com http://www.amsterdam-artgallery.com/guaranties.php?lng=eng “All works of art presented by our gallery are meticulously checked and carefully selected by a team of experienced professionals”
Http://christchurchartgallery.org.nz ” The Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetu collects, presents, interprets and conserves works of art of quality; educates, inspires discovery, and preserves a legacy of artistic achievement for the people of Canterbury and New Zealand.” http://www.christchurchartgallery.org.nz/Schools/ http://www.christchurchartgallery.org.nz/Schools/ http://www.christchurchartgallery.org.nz/Collection/
Comparison of the websites • When you compare the two websites from the beginning you can say that they are very different. Starting with the design and colors and finishing with their goals. The Christchurch Art Galleryis very visually appealing whereas the AAG website seems a bit cold. It is clear to see that they are not interested in the visual appearance of the website. While theAAGis more business minded, the Christchurch Art Galleryhas a more personal relationship with the public by arranging a large variety of events. • The Christchurch Art Galleryis more of an on-line information based website where you can only buy souvenirs. By information, meaning the opening hours, the calendar of up coming exhibitions and events. The AAG is more of a selling and promoting type of gallery.
Mario’s scenario • Why Mario?
Trustworthiness • Dividing the sections in for example paintings and sculptures, makes it easier for the visitor to use the site. • Information about price and size leads to fewer misunderstandings. • Having a description of Mario’s life and an interview with him, makes the site seem more open, honest and trustworthy. • Offering guaranties and international recognized credit card payment, makes the buyers feel safe. • On-line auction where the money goes to charity makes the artist seem kind. • Having a supporter, who updates the site, makes the site seem reliable.
