Overview of Selection of W events • 1st electron pT > 20 GeV, 2nd electron pT < 20 GeV • |η| < 2.5, with 1.4442 < |η| < 1.560 excluded • Robust electron ID (see PAS) • Track Isolation • no tracks (min pt=1.5) within an annulus of 0.02-0.2 are found to have pt/sumpt above 3 • W MT cut of ±25 GeV around the W mass • pat::Jets, are built from iterativeCone5CaloJets • Corrected jet pT > 60 GeV, no η requirement • No overlap (dR = 0.3) with electron from W
Signal and Background / Cut Sample: >=1 corrected reco jets (pt > 60 GeV)
Conclusions/Future Plans • Using uncorrected MET so far • Maybe have better correction in 2_1_X (particle flow?) • Have now included Z->ee, ttbar, and QCD backgrounds • QCD background is too ‘spikey’ at the moment • Ttbar background dominates at >=3 jets • These plots will go into the internal note for the 1_6_12 results • Move on to CMSSW_2_1_X
