Most commercial gyms and fitness centers hate it and feel it is a threat to their businesses. This is largely because it is so successful so they try and do their best to convince people that it is all wrong and dangerous. But the facts are that it is no more dangerous than any other form of exercise if not done properly. Most CrossFit Gyms have beginners classes where they teach you all the correct ways of doing all the workouts and routines before they will allow you to join the mainstream classes.
