  1. 8th March event - ALICE • Message sent around beginning of November (~23 recipients - 5 positive response) • Made alice-women@cern.ch mailing list (260 members) • Discussed in Management Board in December - some for ; others against - let’s do what the other experiments do • After the 1st meeting (8.1.2010) • Sent summary of the meeting to alice-women@cern.ch mailing list encouraging women to take shifts on the 8th March • Response : • 1 woman who has left - what a pity to miss it • 1 very enthusiastic response - came with various ideas • Suggestion : poster of alice women • 1 response : offer of help - objections to “celebration” - profit from event to raise awareness about women’s issues 21.1.2010 8th March event meeting Despina Hatzifotiadou ALICE

  4. Proposal for a poster Asked a sample of women of different nationalities, origins and ages (~15) If they want to be on the poster (6 answers) To provide good quality photographs and short text

Shifts for day - evening 8th March • 24 shifters (detectors, DAQ, DCS etc, offline..) • Morning 8:00 - 16:00 6 shifts booked 3 women • Evening 16:00 - 24:00 7 shifts booked 1 woman • Shifts booked in blocks of 6 • Inquiry sent to SMS support on this • Will address run, period and system coordinators : ask their assistance • Main thing : lobbying • Not big interest • Bulletin announcement will help • Clearer definition of goals • Could we have a site where we can spy on number/percentage of female shifts for that day ?
