Main Findings • AI was more prevalent among the youngest adolescents (ages 14 – 15) and decreased with age • Heterosexual AI was most likely in Latino males between the ages of 14-15 and who had been incarcerated. • AI was significantly less likely among African Americans. • Youth who practiced AI were more likely to engage in other sexual risk, such as greater number of partners, greater numbers of sex encounters and more unprotected sex. • Females used condoms more consistently than males with vaginal sex but less consistently than males with AI.
