  2. Life of Matt Thiessen • Matt was born in Ontario • He moved to Ohio when he was young where he met two friends who were future band members • Can frequently be seen wearing a plaid shirt

  3. Matt Thiessen (cont) • Matt can play many different instruments including the French Horn • Mostly writes the music and lyrics for the band • Often co-produces their albums

  4. Matt Thiessen’s Band History • He participated in a few bands • His Nirvana cover band “Social Distortion” • The Makeout Girls • His side Project Matthew Thiessen and the Earthquakes

  5. Matt’s Personal life • Dated Katy Perry • Was Engaged until his fiancé broke it off. • Loves rollercoasters

  6. Matt and Relient K • Started the band in 1997 • Started with both Matt Hoopes and Brian Pittman who soon left the band in 2004. • Currently consist of 5 band member, Matt Thiessen, Matt Hoopes, Jon Schneck, Ethan Luck and John Warne.

  7. Relient K Records • They have recorded six studio albums, eight EPs, nine singles, two Christmas albums, two compilation albums and a B-side album. • Three of the albums were certified gold along with three of them hitting the top twenty of the Billboard 200
