Continuing Education Programs • Monthly Lunch and Learnsfor Nurses and ancillary staff • AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (Quarterly) • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Qrtly) • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (BiAnn) • AHA Heart Saver (BiAnnual) • Professional Development Programs
Student Involvement • Health Occupation Students from LeCroy use CMC as primary training facility • Wallace State Community College nursing students utilize facility for clinical rotations • McWhorter School of Pharmacy utilize CMC for Clinical Rotations
Disaster/Safety Preparedness • Education & Facilities departments are responsible for disaster preparedness and training (drills). • Drills are conducted as per requirements • Initiated CMC Disaster Volunteer Program this winter. Volunteers will be trained with staff during drills to be of assistance during actual events.
Community Education • Speaker bureau for local organizations & radio • Initiate educational news articles related to health and wellness • Active in community events to promote health and wellness such as Peach Jam, Relay for Life, Arthritis Walk, and Community Health Fair
Nursing Education • Educate Staff on new procedures, equipment, and policies as needed. • Yearly Skills Fair: each staff member must attend event to meet yearly requirements for employment at facility. • Encourage and Facilitate staff education via out of hospital educational programs, satellite conferences, webinars, etc. • Augment education with guest speakers • Yearly All Day Nurse Seminar on relevant topics utilizing guest speakers

Batchelor RN, MS, CNS • Obtained Masters in Nursing from Georgia State University in Atlanta • Nurse for 25 years with extensive experience in adult/pediatric critical care and trauma. Additional experience in special procedures and cardiac cath lab
