FRANZ JOSEF POPP • He was born on January 14, 1886, in Vienna, Austria. • Franz was one of the three men who created the BMW. • He served as a marine engineer in the army from 1914-1917. • He was the first general director of the BMW AG (agriculture) from 1922-1942. • He died on July 29, 1954, in Stuttgart, Germany. BMW History • The BMW was originated by three different companies which are Rapp Motorenwerke,Bayerische Flugzeugwerke, and the Fahrzeugfabrik Eisenach. • After World War 2 the BMW company survived by making pots, pans, and bicycles until 1948. • BMW began building cars in 1952, with the BMW luxury saloon. • It didn’t sell that well, so the company started selling the BMW New Class, BMW 700, and BMW New Six. • Those cars brought in a lot of income (money) toward the company.   7. BMW information Franz Josef Popp founded BMW but, Manga Styer made BMW. HE was a Canadian who started his business after WW1. BMW started to sell their cars in 1929. They continue to sell them to day and have a high sales rate. MF

  9. BMW motors BMW motors was founded in Germany 1916. The maker designed the car and engine and started selling them in 1926. At first he did not make a lot of money because it was after world war 1. not a lot of people could afford them, But BMW survived and became one of the most used cars today. MF

  10. BMW in racing Since the BMW New Class was introduced, BMWs have won many European touring car races. In the early days of BMW racing, they’re motorcycles won many races.

  15. Annie- I liked this project because I like working with other people. (but I kind of thought it was boring) Meredith- I thought this project was fun. i loved learning so many cool facts about the BMW. i also thought it was a good learning experience to get things finished and work with other people.
