  5. Research Sport NI tender (March 2008):- “The Assessment and Measurement of Physical Literacy in Children” Successful joint bid from Stranmillis University College and the University of Ulster

Research objectives • Propose a methodology for assessing the impact of structured physical literacy programmes • Develop and pilot an appropriate assessment tool • Identify and involve relevant partners • Produce a report & recommendations for further development (Timescale -- March 08 – January 09)

  7. Progress to date • Consultation with key stakeholders • Range of discrete and “rich” tasks:- • Locomotion • Body Management • Object control • Critical skill criteria identified • Pupil questionnaire (CAPA scales / Harter) • Pilot in June / fieldwork in September
