  2. He forgot to feed the animals that night, and the animals were extremely hungry. Mr Jones was drunk He collected a bottle of beer, then fell asleep, snoring loudly.

  3. Old Major, the prize white boar, had had a strange dream and wished to communicate it to the other animals. Meanwhile, there was lots of commotion in the barns and stables. The animals were quick to arrive there. Old Major started his speech. His speech was of freedom, of rebellion, of how animals would be free once they were rid of mankind.

  4. He draws them into a long forgotten song. Beasts of England. Beasts of England, Beasts of Ireland Beasts of every land and clime, Hearken to my joyful tidings, Of the golden future time. Soon or late the day is coming, Tyrant man shall be o’erthrown, Then the fruitful fields of England Shall be trod by beasts alone. Rings shall vanish from our noses, And the harness from our back, Bit and spur shall rust forever, The cruel whip no more shall crack. Riches more than mind can picture, Wheat and barley, oats and hay, Clover, beans, and magel-wurzels, Shall be ours upon that day.

  5. The dim growl extended to a deafening roar. At this point, Mr Jones was woken. Annoyed and angry, he grabbed the gun that lay in the corner of his bedroom. He fired a shot which buried itself in the barn walls.

  6. The meeting broke up immediately and the animals streamed out hurriedly. The whole farm was silent, except for occasional snores.
