  2. Introduction This presentation will teach you some things about Coretta Scott King, oh who am I kidding it will teach you a LOT about her.

  3. A-Activist Coretta was a civil rights activist, woman’s rights activist, and an anti-war activist. Activist-- A person who used direct action, as in a demonstration or a strike.

  5. C-Church Coretta Was a big singer in church she led the other singers in the songs. Her husband (Martin Luther King Jr.) was a priest in the same church. They always prayed to God that one day colored (blacks) would be treated fairly.

  6. D-Distinguished career Coretta Scott King established a distinguished career in activism in her own right. Distinguished- Noble in appearance or behavior

  7. E- Excellence After the civil rights movement was finally put right Coretta’s hard work turned into excellence.

  8. F-Faith She had faith that one day all this civil right stuff would just go away so people would be people.

  9. G-God Coretta’s family (plus her little ones) would pray to lord that tomorrow would be a new day that everyone would just be perfect friends.

  10. H-Holler Coretta and Martin wouldn’t holler even if they wanted to, they just made speeches.

  11. I-Intelligent Coretta had a sixth-grade education, which was considerable for a black man of his generation, and according to her friend and biographer Octavia Vivian, Coretta wondered later how much he might have achieved if he had the opportunity to earn a high school diploma.

  15. M-Memoir Her memoir, ”My Life with Martin Luther King, Jr.” was published in 1969.

  16. N-Nonviolent Coretta founded the Center for Nonviolent Social Change in Atlanta.

  17. O-Open Mind Her open mind couldn’t see why people wanted to be rude to others just because their skin is a different color.

  18. P-Peace Coretta and Martin wanted peace with the different colors (races).

  28. Z-Zoo Coretta loved zoos because she loved how all the animals could live together with no fights, often she wished the world was like that.

  29. Conclusion Coretta Scott King was a wonderful women who stood up for what she believed about the civil rights. She believed that colored (blacks) are citizens also, women should have the same rights as any man, and that the world shouldn’t go to war just because they don’t agree. And I definitely agree.
