  2. DEFINICIÓN • La desnutrición es una enfermedad relacionada con la nutrición. Significa que el cuerpo de una persona no está obteniendo los nutrientes suficientes.

  3. TRATAMIENTO • Generalmente, el tratamiento consiste en la reposición de los nutrientes que faltan, tratar los síntomas en la medida de lo necesario y cualquier condición médica subyacente.

  4. TRES TIPOS • Primer grado • Segundo grado • Tercer grado

  5. PRIMER GRADO • De 10% a 25% por debajo del peso normal. El niño no sube de peso, después se detiene su crecimiento.

  6. SEGUNDO GRADO • De 26 a 40% por debajo del peso normal. Los músculos se vuelven débiles (flácidos). Los niños no crecen ni suben de peso, se sienten débiles y sin fuerza.

  7. TERCER GARDO • Universales: hay falta de crecimiento, falta de desarrollo muscular y de tejido adiposo. • Circunstanciales: alteraciones en la piel y en el color del cabello. Se presenta anemia. • Agregados: anemia y bronconeumonía.
