What can we learn from doodling related to Forensic Science? • What state of mind was the criminal in when they committed the crime?
Common Themes in Doodling • Light Marks • Person is sensitive in nature, afraid of making a mistake. • Dark Marks • Resolve, strength, and energy, however… • Overly Heavy Marks • Aggression! Sometimes even results in paper being torn.
More Doodling Analysis • Repetition • Patient/structural Approach to tasks. Or same word written over and over can be importance! However… • Same pattern written over and over again can mean impatience, looking for structure. • Extensive Space Filling • Wanting to express ideas • ZigZags • Harsh Reality in need of comfort
Doodling Continued • Maze – trapped and can’t get out • Waves – dreamers • Drawing hearts – in love or romantic • Game Boards – competitive in nature • Bars – feeling trapped and powerless • Dots – great unease and disordered personality.
