Carbon oxide • Burning of organic compounds at insuffient access of air • Strong affinity to haemoglobin - in the same molar ratio as oxygen but 220 times stronger, competition for binding – even low traces in air can be gradually bound • Degree of poisoning correlates with time of exposition, physical activities M.
