Why he is my role model Dan carter is my role model and has been for a long time because he has influenced me throughout his rugby career playing my hopeful All Black position at number 10
Reflecting on your injury how did you cope? It was difficult at first but the support I received from the team, the management staff and my family helped a lot.
Was it hard to stay positive throughout the RWC knowing you were out from injury? It’s always tough being on the side-line with an injury and I guess even more so when it’s the Rugby World Cup. At times it was frustrating but it seemed to be a lot easier when I was with the team and the management staff. I was really keen to remain positive for the team and encourage them to stay focussed. My role changed a lot!
Who was your rugby inspiration when you were a boy My father
What is a message that you would give to young rugby players like me? Never give up on your dreams. Be passionate about what you want to achieve and work hard to get there.
Have you ever considered giving up or stop playing rugby No… It can be tough when you’re injured but to be honest, that just makes me even more determined to get back out on the field.
What is the biggest risk or jump you have taken in life? The biggest risk or jump has to involve being pushed out of your comfort zone and for me that was when I moved to France to play rugby in 2009
